We decided to add some shelter to the orchard in the form of a couple of living willow domes. These would be places where people could play, pray and meditate.
In conjunction with local children and as part of the opening celebrations, we planted and weaved together large willow withies, generously donated by a local horticultural supplier.
As time passes, these will grow, similar to cress seed heads but on a much larger scale, and will be continually woven back into the structure, the walls becoming more and more solid as the years go by.
One of the local churches, St Augustine’s, was having some trees cut down for safety reasons, and we were able to use some of the chippings and logs to furnish the interiors.
