Schools

Are you a teacher looking to take your students outside, getting them off the screen and into the green? Then why not bring your students along to the Orchard?

We have worked with one local school already to provide staff and students with curriculum enhancement opportunities, ranging from the initial planting of the orchard’s trees and hedgerow, raised bed planting, wildflower seeding, mindfulness exercises in the fresh air and beautiful surroundings, square foot gardening (SFG) in our raised beds and a wild tea ceremony as well as the annual Lantern Parade and Carols in the Orchard, and maypole dance tuition. We also have a number of beekeeping suits which can be used by students to get first hand experience of inside a beehive.

We’re always open to welcoming school groups and can work with you to see how students can get the best from their experiences within the Orchard, whether a one off lesson, or a series for a particular topic or project. Matt holds an Enhanced DBS certificate and has over thirteen years of teaching experience.
